Due to the exciting prospect of facing Longforgan under 12’s in the Scottish Cup it is necessary that all players (born 1990) meet Seven Acres on Sunday at 1.45 p.m. for a match against our tangerine team. As special conditions are in force for the “Scottish” we request that a parent/guardian attends on Sunday for a briefing session.

The fixture on Sunday against Auchterarder at home was cancelled as the clubs were unable to accommodate each other at an acceptable time. This week the team travel to play local rivals Gannochy. Players meet at Seven Acres at 11.45 a.m. We believe that a former Letham player through his business has agreed to sponsor the team and further details will be announced later.

Last Sunday the team travelled to the South Inch to play Gannochy. Following a couple of early setbacks the team performed very well and were well satisfied with their performance. It is hoped they continue in this vein this weekend when they entertain Bridge of Earn at Seven Acres. Times are not yet confirmed so will all players check with Geoff Christie on 01738 634359.

The lads from Bridge of Earn came to Seven Acres on Sunday and gave the homesters a lesson. This week they do not have an easy task when they travel to Luncarty. Athletico Blair supplied the opposition last week at Seven Acres and this turned out to be a very exciting encounter. Blair scored two magnificent goals from set pieces but were rocked by a great fight back by the whites who equalised with virtually the last kick of the game. This Sunday they have another home fixture against Langtown from Auchterarder. Match details are not yet to hand so will all players please phone Geoff Christie on 01738 634359.

Langtoun were too strong for the whites but Geoff and Steve were delighted at the way the boys played. This week they are again on their travels this time to Crieff. Will all players therefore report to Seven Acres at 11.00a.m. on Sunday. They would also appreciate help from parents and friends to assist with the transportation to the venue.

As last week’s fixture was postponed due to ground conditions the team look forward to a home game this week against Oakbank. In order to vary coaching methods the management team brought in a guest coach for this week and will introduce other guest coaches over the ensuing months. Oakbank defeated the whites on Sunday but like the tangerine team, there are definite signs of improvement and one can recognise the input from Geoff and Steve. The team played Gannochy last Sunday on the South Inch in what turned out to be fine sporting game between two evenly matched sides. Gannochy twice took the lead only for Letham to fight back and earn a draw. Both Geoff and Steve were delighted in the manner and style of the team and how their hard work is starting to pay dividends. There is no game this weekend and the next event will be a coaching session on Wednesday evening at 5.30p.m.

The boys enjoyed the result last Sunday when they won against the tangerine team. This was a good team effort and on the day deserved the victory. However, the important factor was that both teams were trying to play football as per the Letham tradition and this was very encouraging for the future. This Sunday the team are at home to Scone in a friendly and players are asked to report to Newhouse Road at 12.15p.m.

Last week the team played very well in the first half, playing attractive football and passing the ball well. Scoring four goals with the loss of two against rewarded them. However, derby matches are unpredictable especially when pride is at stake and were unable to contain the more direct tangerine side that hit them for five goals without reply in the second half. This week they travel to play Scone but final arrangements are not to hand. The club would appreciate help from parents and supporters with transport of the players to this venue.

Whilst the team lost at Scone last week, Jeff and Steve were delighted at the way the team played and took heart from the fact that for much of the game there was only one goal in it. This week the team entertain Kintillo and players should report to the clubhouse, Newhouse Road at 12.15p.m.

The team continue to improve and whilst their more experienced opponents won comfortably in the end, the white team are showing touches that augur well for the future. A visit to Auchterarder last Sunday held no fears and the team recorded a fine away win. This week Gannochy visit Seven Acres. Players to meet Seven acres at 10.30a.m.. Outdoor coaching is on Wednesday evenings at 5.30p.m.

Last weekend Gannochy travelled the short distance across town. Previous encounters have been close but alas for the home team Gannochy ran amok and secured a very easy victory. On Sunday the team are away to Bridge of Earn and players are requested to meet at Newhouse Road at 11.45a.m. Offers to assist with transport would be very welcome.

Last Sunday the team matched their opponents Luncarty in every way but slipped slightly in the second period. The pleasing factor from the club’s point of view is the manner in which the team has improved and to their passing style of play. This week they are away to Athletico Blair. Last week the team travelled to Blairgowrie to play Athletico Blair and whilst playing well were unable to deny the home team. On Sunday the team play host to Langtoun from Auchterarder. The visitors no doubt will cause the homesters a few headaches. Players to meet clubhouse at 12.15p.m.

Langtoun from Auchterarder were far too strong for the whites last Sunday. On Wednesday evening as preparation for next season, the team held a full-scale practice session to familiarise the players with eleven a side football and rules with regard to offside This week they are again at home when Strathearn visit Seven Acres. Last Sunday the team was at home to Strathearn from Crieff. Both teams played well and the respective coaches would have been happy with the outcome. This week the team are away to Oakbank for their final official fixture of the season. Will all players meet clubhouse at 10.15a.m.

The season came to an end on Sunday with an away fixture against Oakbank. Like their club mates the improvement in this team has been remarkable and their play will surprise many next season. Players are reminded that coaching continues every Wednesday evening commencing at 5.30p.m.

Last Sunday the team closed their season with a five a side game and swimming session at Norwich Union. The team will reappear next season as Letham U14 white team.

The team continues to receive coaching with Barry Malcolm every Thursday evening as they prepare for the coming season.

Due to Barry going on holiday, coaching sessions for the current season have now ceased. The team will resume training sessions early in July.
