Last season when the tangerines meet their counterparts in the white team they were undefeated. What a shock was in store last Monday evening before a considerable support for both teams, they could not contain the whites on the big pitch in a pre season practice session and lost heavily. As there is no fixture this weekend, which will give Johnny Campbell an opportunity to bring the team up to speed with regard to tactics when playing eleven a side. To that end a special coaching session will take place on Sunday at 12.30p.m.

The tangerines commence their league cup campaign with an away game to Kintillo. This game will be played at Western Edge Perth. Players to meet Seven Acres on Sunday at noon. Reminder also that coaching is on Wednesday evenings at 7.00p.m.

Last Sunday the team played an away game against Kintillo and despite holding a good lead had to settle for a 6-6 draw. Letham’s goals were scored by S Mannion (4), R Buchanan and S Fraser. This weekend they are again on their travels when they travel north to play Luncarty. Arrangements for this match are not yet finalised.

Last Sunday the lads found Luncarty too hot for them but Steve Mangan scored two good consolation goals. This week they are at home to Bridge of Earn Kintillo in a League Cup fixture. Times for this game have yet to be finalised.

The team won through 5-3 in a good game against Kintillo at Seven Acres. They will be hoping to continue in the same vein when they have Sidlaw Thistle from Dundee as visitors in the Scottish cup. Players meet clubhouse at 11.30a.m.

Last Sunday the team found that Luncarty had all the answers and can have no complaints regarding the scoreline. There is no fixture for this weekend. Coaching as usual on Wednesday evening at 6.00p.m.

The team will be pleased to get back into action following the free day when they travel to play Kintillo at Bridge of Earn for a league fixture. Timings are still not complete but the team are looking for assistance from parents with regard to transportation. Johnny will advise arrangements.

The team only came to life when they were five goals down in the second half. All credit to their fighting spirit and pride when they came storming back with three goals. The deficit however was all ways beyond the reach of the Tangerines. This week they are again on their travels when they visit Bridge of Earn for a league match. The team did not play well at Bridge of Earn last week. This week it is derby day when they play host to their clubmates in the White team. Players to meet Seven Acres at 11.30a.m. Johnny and the boys will be looking for revenge for their high scoring defeat prior to the season commencing. From now on the coaching sessions will be each Wednesday evening at 7.00p.m. in Perth High School.

The team were delighted to win through their League Cup play off against Kintillo at Seven Acres last Sunday. Jonathon Torbet with a nap hand and Scott Teletier were the scorers in a ten-goal thriller. The team were a trifle unlucky last week at home to Gannochy. Having come through a lean spell the side were playing their best football for weeks but a lapse with regard to the laws of the game regarding throw ins were to be their downfall and went down by 3 goals to 2. With five minutes of the match remaining last Sunday it looked on the cards that the Tangerines would get a creditable draw. It was not to be however as Kintillo notched two late goals in the dying minutes. On Sunday the team are away to Blairgowrie to play Athletico Blair. With a weakened team due to illness the team put up a good show away to Athletico last Sunday and Dave and the backroom team were heartened not by the result 11-4 but in the manner of play. There is no game this week. Johnny Campbell will advise by telephone coaching arrangements.

The score-line at Athletico Blair last Sunday was not indicative of the play. Playing good attractive football, careless defensive play was their main downfall despite taking an early lead and holding their own in the first half against a side on paper, which is much stronger. The team is suffering from self-belief at the moment and was apparent against Gannochy last Sunday. The club is delighted to announce that Garry Cochrane will be the new manager of the team. Garry who played for the club back in the late seventies brings a wealth of experience having managed a very successful Bridgend team. His wife Wendy, who is recovering from hospitalization, also joins the existing backroom team.
